From Lucas Kwan Peterson, Food Columnist at the Los Angeles Times:
McDonald’s fries, for approximately 4½ minutes, while they’re absolutely searing hot, are the greatest food on Earth. But their half-life is astoundingly fast, and by the time these babies are cold, they taste like mealy little icicles.
Totally agree, in part because McDonalds has a classic matchsitck fry, which is obviously the best fry shape. And I agree that fries are the worst thing you can order at In-N-Out, although they’re not nearly as bad as he makes them out to be.
For my money, the best fries in Seattle are at the Star Brass Works Lounge, Coastline Burgers, and the Nordstrom Grill.
